Print initiative, sign and mail to us

Want to sign a RAD petition?

If you want to sign one of our initiatives but can't find somebody with one our petitions you can print one or both of our initiatives on your computer, sign them and then mail them to RAD.

Remember to sign our RAD petitions you must be a registered voter in Arizona.

If you are the only person signing the petition, you also must sign the petition as the person circulating the petition, and have the petition notarized.

Instructions on how to do that follow.

If you are circulating our RAD petitions?

If you are asking other people to sign these petitions you are required by law to watch each and every voter sign the petition.

You can't just leave the petitions unattended with a sign asking people to sign them.

You should only let people sign the petitions that are registered voters in Arizona.

You don't have to check their ID, but just ask them if they are a registered voter in Arizona.

If they say they are NOT a registered voter in Arizona, don't let them sign the petition.

You don't have to be a registered voter in Arizona to circulate our RAD petitions.

But you must be eligible to register to vote in Arizona. I.e. You must be 18 or older, and can't be a felon.

If you are circulating our RAD petitions, before you return the petitions to RAD, you must be the person filling out the back of each petition and you must get each petition notarized.

Banks, credit unions, some schools and some govenrment offices will notarize the petitions. Many employers have a person that will notarize the petitions.

Some will notarize the petitions for free, others will charge a fee.

Printing the RAD initiatives

RAD is circulating two initiatives which will be on the 2016 election in Arizona if they get the required number of signatures.

One initiative is to completely relegalize marijuana in Arizona. That is initiative number C-02-2016.

The other initiative is to completely relegalize all drugs in Arizona. That is initiative number C-03-2016.

To make the government bureaucrats in the state of Arizona happy you MUST print the initiatives on 8 and 1/2 by 14 inch paper.

The first page of the initiative MUST be printed on double sided paper.

If you don't use 8 and 1/2 by 14 inch paper your signatures won't count.

If you don't use double sided paper for the first page, again your signatures won't count.

To print a copy of the initiative to legalize marijuana click on this link to pull up a pdf file with the initiative and then print it off.

To print a copy of the initiative to legalize all drugs click on this link to pull up a pdf file with the initiative and then print it off.

Signing and filling out the initiative

Signing the initiative

the name of the person who signed the petition
Signing the initiative is the easy part.

Here is an example which I signed.

On line one in the first box sign the initiative.

On line one in the second box print your full name.

On line one in the third box put the address which you are registered to vote at. Use the address you registered to vote at even if you moved. Don't use your mailing address.

On line one in the fourth box put your zip code.

On line one in the fifth box put your city.

On line one in the last and sixth box put the date you signed the initiative.

Filling out the initiative - Front Side

If you are signing the initiative and mailing it to RAD, you must also fill out the initiative with yourself as the person who is circulating the initiative.

Here are the steps to take to fill out the petition as the circulator.

Paid Circulator or Volunteer

Is the person who circulated the petition or initiative a volunteer or paid circulator
At the top of the petition check the box that says Volunteer.
This is a state wide initiative so put Arizona in this box

this initiative is for the entire state of Arizona

Our latest and greatest PDF files of the initiatives have the word "Arizona" typed in this box.

If you printed our latest copy of the petition you won't have to fill in this box.

But if you printed up your petitions from one of our earlier PDF files this box was left blank.

If this box is blank put "Arizona" in the top box, because this initiative is for the entire state of Arizona. That is opposed to the initiative being for a single county, city or town.

This petition was signed by voters from xxx County

this petitions contains signatures from this county
Petitions may only contain signatures from voters in one county.

I think this is because the petitions are sent back to the counties to verify the signatures.

If you the only person signing the petition put the county you live in in this box.

If you are asking other people to sign the petition, and those people are registered to vote in different counties, you must have a separate petition for each county those people are registered to vote in.

So if you people who are registered to vote in Pinal County and Maricopa County want to sign your petitions, you must have have the people registered to vote in Pinal County sign one set of petitions, and the people registered to vote in Maricopa County sign a second set of petitions.

Filling out the initiative - Back Side

Next flip the petition over and fill out the back side.

County of person who notarized the petition

county of person circulating the petition
  Leave this box blank.

The notary public who notarizes the petition or initiative will put the county they live in this box.

Name & County of person who circulated the petition

name and county of the person who is circulating the petition
  Next print your name.

Then put the county you live in.

Signature and address of person who circulated the petition

signature and address of person who is circulating the petition
Next sign the petition as the circulator of the petition.

Next put the address you live at.

This will be filled out by the person that notarizes the petition

signature of person who notarized the petition
Last you have to get the petition notarized.

You won't fill in any of this stuff, but the notary public who notarizes it will fill it all in for you. Then the notary will place a copy of his or her stamp on it.

Banks, credit unions, some schools and some govenrment offices will notarize the petitions. Many employers have a person that will notarize the petitions.

Some will notarize the petitions for free, others will charge a fee

Mail the initiative to RAD

Last you have to mail the initiative to RAD. And that includes the stupid pages that include a description of the initiative.

Those govenrment bureaucrats sure make us jump thru a lot of silly rules to do this. And if you don't follow all the silly rules they will reject your signature.

You can then mail the initiative to RAD at:
